Ōsanbashi Pier 大さん橋
Since 1894, the Ōsanbashi Pier has served as Japan’s gateway by sea.
大桟橋は1894年以来、日本の海の玄関口として活躍。
Completed in 2002, Yokohama International Passenger Terminal a.k.a. the “whale’s belly” (from the way the structure looks), its design feature involves no pillars and no steps, creating a unique and accessible environment — an original architectural concept selected through an international pitch competition.
2002年完成の横浜港大さん橋国際客船ターミナルは、「くじらのおなか」の愛称（その見た目から）で知ら、国際コンペで選ばれた柱や階段のないユニークでバリアフリーな空間。
The rooftop, dubbed as the “whale’s back,” is available to the public 24 hours, offering a spectacular nightscape.
「くじらのせなか」であるルーフトップは一般向けに24時間開放され、絶好の夜景スポット。
a.k.a.
a.k.a. は、also known as の略で、通称〜、〜としても知られている、〜とも呼ばれる、という意味。「aka ほにゃらら」で「二つ名 ほにゃらら」という形でも使われます。
accessible
accessible は、access することが可能な という意味ですが、accessible restroom 誰でもトイレというように、バリアフリー の意味合いでも使われます。
dubbed as
dubbed as は、〜と名付けられた、〜というニックネームがついた、の意味。また、dubbed in Japanese あるいは Japanese dub で、 日本語吹替版 という使い方もされます。ちなみに、吹き替え版 の対となる 字幕版 は subbed となります。
